Our History

St. Louis Ambassadors Volunteer and MemberFor more than 40 years, The Saint Louis Ambassadors and our members have been working to improve the quality of life for people and organizations in the metropolitan area by promoting the region, hosting significant events and contributing volunteer services, grants and other support to non-profit groups.

We also have a lot of fun.

We were born in 1965 when St. Louis Mayor Alfonso J. Cervantes pooled the talent and energy of civic-minded citizens to help promote our community to St. Louisans and the world. Since then, our membership has grown steadily. Today our members are individuals in many different careers and walks of life. Many are top executives, professionals and successful entrepreneurs.

Today we are more than a networking organization – we also are “doers.” Some major projects have been:

  • Restoring the magnificent statue of Saint Louis outside the world-class Saint Louis Art Museum
  • Restoring historic and beautiful Cabanne House in Forest Park
  • Organizing the display of state flags in the rotunda of St. Louis City Hall
  • Awarding “Commitment Counts” scholarships to high school seniors who have overcome significant obstacles
  • Organizing a toy drive every holiday season
  • Hosting charitable golf tourneys
  • Sponsoring The 1904 World’s Fair Foundation
  • Entertaining VIPs, dignitaries and government leaders visiting St. Louis
  • And much more

Thanks to our enthusiastic members and Board of Directors, The Saint Louis Ambassadors is a premier civic organization. With support from our current Chairmen – St. Louis Mayor Francis G. Slay and St. Louis County Executive Charlie A. Dooley – we enjoy a major role in promoting lifestyle quality, charitable activities, business growth and community affairs.

If you want to be both involved and “in touch” with people and organizations in greater St. Louis, The Saint Louis Ambassadors is for you. For more information, please contact us via email or call 314 454 1488.
